What Is ECU Remapping?
The engine control unit (ECU) uses software to control how the engine operates. Remapping involves reading the relevant ECU software and applying an appropriate calibrated file to change selected operating characteristics within the supported application.
Different engines, ECUs and software versions have different tuning potential, which is why the available options and expected gains must be checked for the individual vehicle.

Stage 2 remap carried out on this Audi S3 in Wantage, with launch control and pops and bangs. These photographs show the vehicle, engine bay and programming setup during the job.
This Audi RS4 arrived in limp mode. KeyLogik carried out an ECU remap and intake manifold flap delete, and the car is now running perfectly following the work.
Customer requested a hardcut limiter with flames, DPF/EGR/swirl flap delete and a deep idle. The ECU was read using a Flex diagnostic tool and the calibrated software was written back to the EDC16CP35.
Stage 1 remap carried out on a 4.4 V8 Range Rover L405. The ECU was read and calibrated with the Dell laptop connected at the engine bay, with battery support maintained throughout.
Stage 1 remap on a BMW 420i. The Bosch ECU was read and programmed via a FlexBox diagnostic tool connected through the OBD port with the laptop running on the passenger seat.
Stage 1 remap with DPF and EGR delete on a Ford Transit Mk7 2.4 TDCi van. The calibration was tailored for stronger usable torque and improved response under load.
AdBlue delete carried out on a Peugeot Partner van. The ECU was accessed at the engine bay with the laptop connected on-site, and the AdBlue system was removed from the calibration.
Stage 2 remap on a 2017 Golf GTD Mk7. The Siemens ECU was programmed via bench method with the Dell laptop running dedicated programming software at the customer's location.
Stage 1 remap on a 2015 BMW 520d. The ECU was removed and connected to a FlexBox and Dell laptop running Bosch EDC17 programming software for a bench programming method.
AdBlue delete on a Jaguar F-Pace. A Sealey battery support unit was connected to maintain stable voltage throughout the ECU programming process at the customer's location.
